Teddy Sweaters.....

My Dad has been a busy bee knitting sweaters for teddy bears so they'll stay warm while they wait for the long, snowy New England winter to end!

Yes, my DAD! He's also a great seamster, he can repair a furnace, build shelving, change the oil in the car and was a computer software developer throughout his professional career, traveling all over the world! He's had some serious health problems in recent years which have forced him to stop working and have really slowed him down. Because he loves to do things with his hands he began knitting.... a skill he learned from his grandmother as a young boy! Would she be proud of what he's done with those skills!!

In addition to teddy-bear-sized sweaters he's made sized-for-humans purses and shoulder bags in some gorgeous spring colors!!

I invite you to visit my Etsy shop to see all of his latest designs!!! I just added new inventory today!

Daphne -
Men are referred to as tailors, not seamsters.

LOL... Thank you Jared! I knew my word choice was incorrect but I had a huge brain cramp late last night! I have fixed it. Hope you didn't take any offense....

Well, um errr not to get too technical but you weren't really totally brain cramped Daph :D

A tailor, a seamster, and a sartor are correct terms. Funny thing is "tailor" is defined as "a person" and not specifically a gal or guy. It appears only seamstress is gender specific, so go figure! lol :)

LOVE your dads bags, they're fantasic. Oh how I wish I could knit. Your dad's truly talented.

Well, what'd'ya know!! You're right! Seamster may not be the more common term but it's still correct. I'm pretty smart during the midnight hour after all! Hee hee! Thanks, Chrissi!!

No offense taken. It takes more than that to offend me.

And upon further research I discovered that I was wrong.

Thank you Chrissi.

Greeting Daphne!

Was making a link to you on an entry (hope that was ok!) and found you have a blog now too. What fun! Late at the moment but I'll be back to read all tomorrow.

I really love your dad's TB sweaters. They are very reasonalbly priced too. Maybe he could knit some a little smaller? for a 10-12 inch bear?
